Herpes Simplex
This virus can be treated using Chinese herbal medicine. The idea would be to attack the virus and raise the immune system so that it doesn't flare up again. Combined with laser therapy, the virus can be controlled even to the point of minimal or non existent flare-ups or eruptions.

Herpes Zoster (shingles)
This is a skin condition that is accompanied by a great deal of pain. Treatment is based on elimination of the virus’s response on the skin such as blisters and pain management.  Shingles does respond quite well to the use a combination of therapies. I find that a combination of laser, acupuncture and microcurrent is very effective. If the blisters are bad then topical herbs and even internal herbs are added.

Neurodermatitis
This condition is very responsive to Traditional Chinese Medicine and is generally treated with herbs (taken internally) and acupuncture. A change in diet also plays an important role in recovery including the avoidance of certain types of foods.

Psoriasis

Rosacea

Urticaria (Hives)
This condition is treated using Chinese herbal medicine.  The length of treatment using the herbs is usually lengthy, approximately 3 to 6 months for the full duration.  Treatment is combined with acupuncture using plum blossom needling for nerve stimulation therapy. This helps shift the nervous system out of a hive response and thus teach the immune system to calm down.

Vitiligo
This condition is treated using Chinese medicine both internally and topically. It is very slow to respond and takes a great deal of patience to successfully complete the treatment process. The internal herbal medicine helps change the body’s response to vitiligo while the topical medicine helps to stimulate melanin production in the skin.

Perioral dermatitis
This condition is very responsive to Traditional Chinese Medicine and is generally treated with herbs both topically and internally. A change in diet also plays an important role in recovery including the avoidance of certain types of foods.

Seborrhea
This is also known as Seborrhoeic dermatitis. This condition is very responsive to Traditional Chinese Medicine and is generally treated with herbs both topically and internally. This skin condition is typically very fast to respond and clear up when both internal and external herbs are used together.

Melasma or chloasma
Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, taken orally, in the form of a mixture is used to treat this condition.

Hair loss or alopecia
Our treatment for hair loss is based on a chinese treatment protocol developed by one of my dermatology professors in China.  She applied herbs both topically and internally and boasted a 70% success rate.

Scleroderma
Traditional Chinese herbal medicine, taken orally, in the form of a mixture is used to treat this condition.
