What is eToims®?
eToims® (Non-Invasive Electrical Twitch Obtaining Intramuscular Stimulation) offers pain relief and muscle rehabilitation for existing patients who may have failed at other treatments. This non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical treatment improves a patient’s overall physical wellbeing and muscle state. The eToims® Technique non-invasively targets muscle fibres at damaged neuromuscular junctions deep within the body and closest to the bone and joint, encouraging muscles to twitch contract. The eToims® twitch stretches individual muscles from within, increases fresh blood inflow to afflicted areas, strengthens injured muscles, and concurrently allows outflow of pain producing chemicals.

What Can it Do?
Invented by Doctor Jennifer Chu, Emeritus Associate Professor in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School, this device is different from all other forms of electrical stimulation by its ability to penetrate the deepest neuromuscular junctions. The use of eToims® in recent injuries, may prevent the need for surgery. Acute injuries causing partial nerve damage (such as neurapraxia) can be immediately healed. Chronic repetitive, or other injuries, resulting in permanent nerve damage, can be helped in the healing process due to improved circulation. This leads to gradual nerve regeneration. The eToims® Technique, through its ability to exercise individual muscles and nerves, provides pain relief with improvement of range of motion. This increases strength, balance and coordination.

Real-Time Diagnosis of Injuries
eToims® provides real-time diagnosis of injured nerves and muscles which may not be detectable with common procedures such as MRI. The most recent and acute injuries will twitch with the most vigour, while older and more chronic problems may not twitch at all in the first of several treatment sessions. However, the twitch quality of a patient's muscle may improve towards the end of a 30-60 minute treatment session.
